GLYN LEWIS long-term St Albans resident and former head of languages at Verulam School, died at Cedar Lawn Methodist Home for the Aged in Stratford-upon-Avon on 20 October. Though vigorous into old age, he had been defeated by Covid 19. Born in Pontypridd, Wales, Glyn was educated in Croydon, Surrey, and at London University. A devout Methodist and Sunday-school teacher, he was happily married for 57 years to Jean, who died in 2008. He will be sorely missed by children David, Mary and Peter, and grandchildren Sophie, Ben, Alice, Molly, Jack and Billy. Cremation will be on 9 November at Oakley Wood Crematorium, Leamington Spa. Donations in lieu of flowers will be shared between : Hatfield Road Methodist Church, St Albans, Stratford-upon-Avon Methodist Church and Médecins Sans Frontières, and may be sent c/o A E Bennett & Sons, 34 Sheep Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6EE (Cheques payable to A E Bennett & Sons Donations Account, please).
