SIMMONS Arthur better known as Bill, of Manor Road, Wheathampstead, passed away peacefully on June 11, aged 86, after a short illness. Beloved husband of Dorothy to whom he had been married 66 years, and father to Susan and Paul, grandfather to Luke, Laura, Grace and Annie and great-grandfather to Abbie and Ella. He will be very much missed by his family and wide circle of friends. The funeral service took place at Batford Methodist Church on June 22 where Bill was a mainstay of the congregation for more than thirty years. Donations if desired should be made to The Gurkha Welfare Trust. Having served alongside this outfit in Malaya, Bill was a keen supporter of their charity.
