HOPWOOD Barbara (nee Hartley) born in Bolton, Lancashire and for 40 years a resident of Harpenden, Hertfordshire and latterly of Aigburth, Manor Road, Oadby died on Tuesday, June 29, aged 89. Widow of John Clifford Hopwood and loving mother of Mary, David and Jeremy, grandmother of Gayle, Miriam, Wendy, Naomi, Kate, Beth and Rachel and great-mother of Nathan, Ella and Esther. She was a wife, mother, magistrate, cook in a wartime British restaurant and flower arranger of national renown. Funeral service at Gilroses Crematorium Groby Road, Leicester on Wednesday, July 7, at 3.15pm. Family flowers only, donations to the Aigburth Amenity Fund via A.J.
