The nominations have been revealed for this year's South Herts CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) Pub of the Year competition.
Nine St Albans pubs have been shortlisted along with a number of establishments in London Colney, Colney Heath, Hatfield and Harpenden.
Ian Boyd, chairman of South Herts CAMRA, said: “Everyone has their own preferences about what makes a great pub, but there are some things everyone wants to see – a warm, welcoming atmosphere; friendly, knowledgeable staff; and a clean, comfortable environment.
"These are the kind of factors we assess when judging our Pub of the Year, alongside consistently excellent beer and cider quality.
“We’re fortunate in this area to be well served with so many great pubs, so this is always a very closely-fought competition.
