Drivers in and around St Albans will have 16 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Ten of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A414, from 10.30pm January 7 to 5am February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 Watling Street Roundabout, Lane closures for surveying works on behalf of Volkafitzpatrick.

And a further 15 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A1001, from 10pm February 12 to 6am February 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1M, junction 3 Roundabout, Lane and slip road closures for testing works, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.

• A405, from 10pm February 12 to 5am February 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 8 - entry slip road closure, link road closure, lane closure and diversion route due to communications works on behalf of Ringway.

• A405, from 10pm February 12 to 5am February 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1/A414 both directions, junction 6A to junction 8 - carriageway closure, exit slip road closures, hard shoulder closures, lane closures and diversion routes due to litter clearance works on behalf of Ringway.

• M1, from 9am to 6pm on February 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 9 to junction 11 - hard shoulder closures due to electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M25, from 10pm February 13 to 5am February 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 22 to junction 23, Lane closures and slip road closures for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 14 to 5am February 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 9 to junction 6A - lane closure for sweeping of carriageway on behalf of National Highways.

• M25, from 10pm February 14 to 5am February 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti clockwise, junction 22, Lane closures and slip road closures for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M25, from 10pm February 14 to 5am February 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane closure for electrical emergency works.

• M25, from 10pm February 15 to 5am February 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane and link road closure for urgent carriageway repairs, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M25, from 10pm February 15 to 5am February 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane closure for electrical emergency works.

• A414, from 10pm February 19 to 5am February 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6A to junction 5, exit and entry slip road closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• A414, from 10pm February 20 to 5am February 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, exit and entry slip road closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 21 to 5.30am February 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 20 to junction 22, Lane closures and slip road closures for electrical works, diversion via National Highways roads.
