Four men have been arrested and a weapon seized after an attempted robbery in Harpenden.
Police were called shortly before 4pm on Wednesday (July 31) to reports that a group of males were walking around Rothamsted Park in possession of a weapon.
Officers attended and carried out a search of the area which resulted in a chase across the park.
Four men were subsequently detained and arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
A wooden mallet was also recovered by the dog unit.
The men were taken into custody and nobody was hurt during the incident.
Police enquiries are continuing following the incident and officers have thanked members of the public who contacted them.
