Teams of the Herts Ad Sunday League took a moment before their games this weekend to honour the memory of one of the biggest supporters of grassroots football in the district - Robert Trevor.
Trevor was the chairman of Harpenden Colts but passed away following a short illness.
A spokesman of the league said: “The thoughts of the league committee and our member clubs are with his friends and family at this time.”
The league guaranteed themselves at least one finalist in the Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup by sending three teams through to the semi-finals.
It was very nearly a clean sweep, but Forever Young People fell short in a brilliant game against Woodside from Watford, losing 2-1.
They will now play either Oceans XI or Little Heath who play their quarter-final on Sunday, Oceans winning 2-1 against Watford Sports in round three with goals from Montel Robinson and George Fennell.
In the other semi, it will be Brookmans Park against The Bull.
Park progressed with a 4-2 win over AFC Turnford. Charlie Nelson opened the scoring from a free-kick and after Turnford equalised, Park went ahead again through an excellent header from Dave Breeze.
It was 2-2 by half-time but goals from Tom Milton and Adam Page wrapped things up.
The Bull had it slightly easier against Bengeo Borough, winning 4-1. Jack Woods put them ahead inside a minute and Harry McNamara made it two from 25 yards a few minutes later.
Woods completed his hat-trick in the second period, Kai Neill and McNamara getting the assists, and it meant Bengeo’s late goal was nothing more than a consolation.
Five-time Herts Sunday Senior Cup winners Skew Bridge went out of this year’s competition with a 3-2 loss to east Herts side Broxelona.
They will now play Borehamwood Rovers who beat Real Hadham 2-0 with goals from Taylor Blake and Dwayne Duncan.
Phoenix Reserves are in the hat for the next round of the Herts Sunday Junior Cup after a penalty shoot-out win against Cheshunt Rovers, Liam Addlesee scoring their goal in the 90 minutes, but BWSC are out after a 5-2 defeat to Fairfield Park.
Alex Garvey got both of their goals.
Two goals from James Lauder gave Player Packs a 2-0 win against Harpenden Colts OB in the Herts Ad Challenge Cup while Charlie Gilroy and Jacob Jones were on target as Wheathampstead 89 knocked out unbeaten Division Two leaders Pinewood in the Jim Lynch Trophy.
Paul Reilly scored for Pinewood in the 2-1 loss.
Paxton Rovers moved into the next round with a 2-0 away win against Six Bells.
A Troy Archer hat-trick put Excel on their way to a comfortable 4-0 win against Alban Dynamo Res in the Herts Ad Intermediate Cup, Kieran Brasier with the other, and they were joined in the third round by Cub who beat Hatfield Seniors Res 4-2.
The Seniors’ first team, however, made it to the quarter-final by beating Mermaid Res 2-1, Curtis Warner and Jimmy Talbot cancelling out Craig Clarke’s effort.
Goals from Josh Panther and Billy Small helped Plough & Harrow to a 2-1 win in the Premier Division against Phoenix, Daniel Kitchener with the reply, while a 95th minute winner from Oliver Purton in Division One gave Little Heath a similar win over Wheathampstead Wanderers.
Robert Pinto had put Heath in front only for Kwame Ofori to equalised for Wheato with minutes remaining.
Mermaid’s good form continued as they won 3-1 against Welwyn Garden United, Chris Widling, Stephen Maitland and Carl Fadhel on target for them and Sean Mboto replying for WGU.
In Division Two, Harpenden Colts OB Res drew 1-1 with Six Bells Res, Stephen Harris and Jack Lodge getting the respective goals.

A Jonathan Tanton hat-trick saw TNF climb to second as they beat Welwyn Warriors Res 4-1. Tom Anderson was TNF’s other scorer while Alex Dibden was on target for Warriors.
Brookmans Park Res remain top of Division Four after beating Royston Rangers 6-2. Leading scorer Sam Kinsley got three, Jiri Skrdlik two and Amal Lewis one.
Welwyn Rangers won 8-0 against Hadham Rovers, Hayden Evanson adding five and Billy Dean, Luke Stuckley and Alex Banbury getting the others.
