Mermaid have jumped above Phoenix thanks to a 4-1 win over Wheathampstead Wanderers.
Star man for Mermaid was Harry Crook who scored a hat-trick, Joe Geddes getting the other, while Stephen Buckler replied for Wheato.
Brookmans Park are third after a 3-3 draw with Borehamwood Rovers, Adam Page (two) and Charlie Nelson their men on target.
Little Heath moved level on points with their neighbours courtesy of a 4-2 success over Forever Young People.
Jack McShane, Rhys Monaghan and Ben Weyman were on the mark for Six Bells in their 4-1 win over Strafford Arms and Plough & Harrow beat Harpenden Colts OB by the same score.
Chris Dunn, Charlie Gould, Aykan Gould and Niall Kateley scored for them, Dan Bailey replying for the Colts.
St George's and Rose & Crown Mosquito both kept their perfect records in Division Three intact.
George beat Marshalswick Rovers 2-1, Phil Bernard scoring both with Kai Takahashi replying, and Mosquito beat The Wrestlers 3-2.
Marc Arnott, Jake Lonergan and Luke Ryan were on target for them with Anthony Mann and Will Orridge scoring for Wrestlers.
The 2-1 score was a popular one in the division with both Welwyn Warriors Res and Royston Rangers winning by it
Warriors' goals against Herts Vets came from Dan Etienne and John Woodward with Brad Solomon and Tom Perry on target for Rangers in the win over Wheathampstead 89.
In Division Four, it is Alban Dynamo Res who have a 100 per cent record as they beat Phoenix A 4-0.
Royston Rangers Res lost for the first time this year though, going down 2-1 to Stotfold Rovers for whom Ben Robson and Ewan Smailes scored.
Michael Sinnott had got the consolation for Royston.
Hatfield Seniors Res beat 4-0 CPFC Eagles 4-0 with goals from Jack Galloway, Jacob Kelly-Woolmington, Conner McGrath and Aaron Puleston while London Colney United won 4-1 against Monday Night.
Bailey Calas got two and Luke Haberfield and Krishten Cavaree one each.
Most other clubs were involved in county cup action as the Herts FA Intermediate Cup got under way.
TNF needed penalties to defeat The Cross, winning 4-3 after a 1-1 draw where Jon Tanton scored.
The Bull were another who went to a shoot-out. They had drawn 0-0 with Alban Dynamo before winning 5-4.
Troy Archer was on the hat-trick mark for Excel as they won 6-2 against Mermaid Res. The other goals came from James Phillips, Callum Grimes and George O’Shea.
Welwyn Warriors also scored six but without reply in their game with Six Bells Res. Their scorers were Jon Cross-Hackett (two), Callum Clifford, Joe Gazza, Ellis Paine and Mitchell Ryan.
Noah Arthur-Tinworth grabbed three for the second time this season as Wheathampstead Wanderers Res beat Oceans XI 8-0.
Other goals came from Joe Rabey and Jon Moore, both on two, and Tommy Caffery.
Hatfield Seniors lost, however, beaten 5-0 away to Brewster Plumbing, and Brookmans Park Res are out after a 5-3 loss to Langleybury CC.
Michael Donkin, Jack Marshall and Ronan Nevin got their goals.
