The battle at the top of the Premier Division in the Herts Ad Sunday League continues to remain very exciting.
Four points separate the top four although Phoenix do have two games in hand on the rest.
They maintained their perfect start with a 6-4 win over bottom of the table Wheathampstead Wanderers.
Ali Bangura and Robert Calancea each got two while Wilson Mendes and Jack Taylor got the others. Wanderers' goals came from Max Hunter (two), Stephen Buckler and Patrick Sheehy.
They remain two points behind leaders Brookmans Park who beat Little Heath 4-2.
Jamie Nelson got a hat-trick, William Clark getting the other, while Bailey Austen and Ross Gilbert replied for Heath.
Plough & Harrow jumped above Mermaid into third by beating them 6-4.
George Ellege (three), Charlie Gould (two) and Josh Panther scored for them and Edward Chisenwa, Harry Crook, Stephen O’Reilly and Simphiwe Vilakati for Mermaid.
Two goals from Harry Seeby plus one from Jack McShane gave Six Bells a 3-1 win against Harpenden Colts OB, who replied through Lawrence Waldram.
In Division One, The Bull moved ahead of Hatfield Seniors and into second by beating them 5-0 with three from Joe Fletcher and two for Harry Shepherd.
Gabriel Asare-Bekoe hit a hat-trick as Welwyn Warriors beat BWSC 4-1, Calum Paine getting the other, while Pinewood picked up their second point of the season in a 2-2 draw with Phoenix Res.
George Milsted and Robert Smith got their goals with Liam Addlesee and Jack Hague replying for Phoenix.
Two goals from Ken Lee and a Adam Payne single was enough to give Mermaid Res a 3-2 win over Brookmans Park Res in Division Two, Nathan Gibbins and Jack Marshall getting the Park goals, and the same score saw Six Bells Res defeat Oceans XI.
Tayler Fennel and Jermaine Sandiford got the Oceans' goals.
Strafford Arms Res maintained their perfect start with a 5-3 success over still-winless TNF, who had Steven Orchard and Jay Telford on target.
The only other league game came in Division Four where London Colney United won 6-0 against Royston Rangers Res.
The rest of the matches came in cup competitions.
In the second round of the Herts FA Sunday Junior Cup, Robert Gradwell scored all four as Herts Vets beat Dome Bar 4-2.
Marshalswick Rovers are also though after beating Kimpton 5-0 with goals from Skrdlik Jiri (two), Jack Messam, Alex Brace and Luke Spencer.
Wheathampstead ‘89 also scored five, beating Tudor Rose 5-2 with Daryl Dunbar, Charlie Gilroy, Ryan Smallcorn, Jaden White and Steven John on target, and Royston Rangers saw off Abbots Athletic 3-1.
Cameron Ferguson, Brad Goldby Soloman and Ryan Lawler got their goals.
An all-HASL clash saw St George's beat The Wrestlers 4-1, Anthony Mann getting the latter's consolation but Alban Dynamo Res are out, beaten 3-0 by Woodside Res, as are Welwyn Warriors Res, who lost 6-0 to Everett Rovers.
In the Herts Ad Intermediate Cup, Welwyn Rangers cruised into the next round with a 13-0 win over CPFC Eagles.
Joe Francis got three while Billy Dean, Charlie Montague and Tyler McCarthy got two each. Ben Laurence and Harry Tozer completed the rout.
Saints also won big, beating Hatfield Comets 6-1 with goals from Lewis Cocomazzi (three), Jamie Armstrong, Jarvis Fluckiger-Wilkins and Alessandro Fardella.
Tyler Garnett scored for the Comets.
Callum Grimes got two as Excel beat Wheathampstead Wanderers Res 3-2 in the Jim Lynch Trophy.
Thomas Mullord got the other while Jon Moore got both for Wheato.
