A livid David Noble has blasted his players after St Albans City fell apart at home to Tonbridge Angels.
Saints had arrived at Clarence Park determined to put things right from Tuesday when they lost 4-0 at Braintree Town, all four goals coming before the break.
This time it was City who were charge at half-time thanks to goals from Shaun Jeffers and Ryan Blackman, the former making another start.
And they held that 2-0 lead until the 70th minute.
However, after that it unravelled rapidly with Angels going onto claim a 3-2 success with a winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
And Noble said the blame had to be shouldered by the players.
He said: "I'm livid. It's groundhog day.
"We're just giving the ball away in the wrong situations all the time. We're not protecting the ball, we' can't look after the ball.
"If you keep giving the ball away, they are going to keep playing and we made the wrong decision every time we got it.
"Every time we got it, we made the wrong decisions.
"It just comes down to sloppy play in possession and if you keep giving them the ball back, you are never going to kill their spirit.
"Players on other teams look after it, they put their body in between the ball, they protect the ball.
"You are taught that at seven-year-old. It is one of the basics of football and we can't do the basics right.
"And especially when you feel the tide turning, we just capitulate as a team. It's worrying, really worrying.
"Everyone in the stadium could feel what was going to happen.
"You don't know what team is going to turn up, and it is not just from one game to the next, it's from one half to the next or from one five minutes to the next.
"It is not one specific thing or one specific player.
"It is 80 and 90 per cent of them who make the wrong decisions.
"The brain is the most important tool for a footballer, the body is just the engine.
"The decision making is key and we are miles off it.
"We are just going to have to find the personnel who can look after the ball.
"Bar the last 30 minutes it was a good performance but that was some 30 minutes.
"We were lucky to get away with 3-2 in the end, it was crazy."
