Colney Heath picked up back-to-back wins in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division with a victory at Potton United.
The only goal of the game came early, youngster Harley Fonti getting it on five minutes as he rose to meet an Ollie Lawford cross.
What followed was solid away performance which saw the Magpies have plenty of chances to score even more.
Chad King tested Potton keeper Elliot Duffy with a header and just before half-time, a punch from under his own crossbar landed at the feet of Kai Thomas-Fraser.
The forward couldn't get the rebound on target though.
The second half saw George Sippetts get sight of goal on a couple of occasions but a mixture of off-target shooting, good defending and bad luck, a shot hitting the crossbar, he was unable to add to the lead.
Jack McShane too could have done better when he found himself in front of goal.
They did have to defend at times with Connor Sansom saving from Nigel Chikamba and Michael King and a shot from Mike Evans hitting the post.
However, Potton's day did go from bad to worse when Duffy was shown a straight red card with 12 minutes to go, Richard Chadwick going into the goal.
And it meant Colney were able to close out the game and take the three points.
Everyone has a bad day at the office sometimes though and Sunday was the turn of Harpenden Town ladies as they lost 6-2 at home to Bowers & Pitsea in the third round of the Eastern Region League Cup.
Bowers, who play their football one division higher than Harps, had too much for the hosts, especially in the fist half when they ran away to a 5-1 lead.
Harpenden did score first though, Louisa Ransom playing the ball inside to Sophia Amanor who then unleashed a fierce drive into the left corner.
That was on eight minutes but the lead lasted for just three, Millie Isherwood striking a shot into the roof of the net.
A further eight minutes later Bowers got themselves in front for the first and last time, Isherwood again the scorer, and she went on to bag her hat-trick before Libby Cooper and Whitney Locke rounded off a good attacking half for the visitors.
Rebecca McShane was denied one back before half-time by a good stop from Hannah Stone and Belle Shannon had a terrific fierce drive go just wide at the start of the second half.
It was Bowers who scored next though, Isherwood getting her fourth on 55 minutes, but Harpenden played much better in the second 45.
And they were rewarded with a penalty kick following a foul on Ransom, Hannah Pope putting the ball in the net from 12 yards.
Amanor and McShane then went close but there was to be no further Harpenden goals.
Reese Ayres and Rebecca Dowdall were named as the home team's players of the match.
There were two games for the St Albans Primary Schools district sides, both against Slough.
The Yellows won 7-1 in the Boys' Southern Counties League with Mendez-Barral, Tolley and Duncan each getting two and Kosh one.
A spokesman said: "It was a dominant performance which the lads needed after their last game.
"There was good passing and movement and that gave them the advantage over a hard-working Slough side.
"Inspired performances from Hodgkinson at full-back and in centre midfield from Kosh and Hawkes gave us a comprehensive victory."
In the Girls' Southern Counties League, goals from Duncan, Barrett, Dibbs and Mellor gave Saints a 4-2 win.
The spokesman added: "The girls overcame a big powerful Slough side by being persistent and keeping to their strengths by passing the ball well.
"Captain Boxill-Roope was superb in defence while Duncan and Dibbs always looked dangerous going forward."
