The Herts Ad Sunday League returned to action after the Christmas break and some relished being back on the grass.
None more so than Wheathampstead Wanderers who arguably produced the result of the season so far with a 9-1 win at home to Plough & Harrow in the Premier Division.
The visitors started the day in second place while the host were eighth and yet Wheato turned the formbook upside down.
Patrick Sheehy led the way with three while Jordan Cornes and Stephen Buckler chipped in with two each.
Nicholas Casadei and Frankie Buckler completed the rout, Charlie Gould getting the solitary goal for Plough & Harrow.
The latter stay second though as Phoenix failed to take advantage, losing for the first time this season.
They went down 2-1 to Borehamwood Rovers who move up to fourth.
Phoenix do have four games in hand on both P&H and leaders Brookmans Park, trailing each by one point and eight points respectively.
The only other top flight game saw Strafford Arms beat Mermaid 2-1 with George Atkinson and Matthew Walsh on target.
Kiefer Nwosu got the Mermaid consolation.
In Division Three, St George's moved top as the two sides with either side of them at start of play, Welwyn Warriors Res and Royston Rangers, drew 1-1.
Tom Ward had scored for Warriors while Cameron Ferguson equalised for Rangers.
George's had a 5-4 success against Rose & Crown Mosquito.
At the other end of the table, there was a first win of the season for Hatfield Comets as they beat Marshalswick Rovers 3-1.
They remain bottom but goals from Sean Meally, Casey Zwager and Hayden Nergaard mean they are now just one point behind both The Wrestlers and Rovers.
Skirdlik Jiri got the consolation for Marshalswick.
Hertfordshire Vets won 3-2 against Wheathampstead 89, the match having been level 2-2 at the break.
Robert Gradwell got all three for the Vets while John was at the double for 89.
Stotfold Rovers and Phoenix A both joined Division Four leaders Alban Dynamo Res on 21 points with victories.
Stotfold beat Royston Rangers Res 2-1, Daniel Joseph the Royston scorer, while Phoenix enjoyed a 2-0 win over Hatfield Seniors Res.
Their goals came courtesy of Sam Gower and Josh Peddar.
There was also one cup game which saw London Colney United win 3-1 against The Wrestlers in the Herts Ad Junior Cup quarter-final.
They are the first team to book their place in the last four of the competition.
