David Noble has only been back in the St Albans City job for a few weeks but it has already been blighted by an exodus of some of his experienced players to divisional rivals.
The second reign began on May 17 but the opening weeks saw first Kyran Wiltshire and then Ryan Blackman depart.
Wiltshire arrived at Clarence Park in 2020 and went on to make 127 appearances, scoring six goals.
His final year was overshadowed by a knee injury that meant he only turned out on eight occasions.
The 27-year-old has signed for neighbours Hemel Hempstead Town while Blackman has moved to Chelmsford City.
His time at the Park was shorter than Wiltshire, originally arriving on loan from Concord Rangers in January 2023 before signing full-time, scoring four goals in 63 games.
His departure was the player's choice, the club saying they had been "unable to agree terms to keep him following lengthy discussions".
Now Mitchell Weiss has joined the players heading through the exit door, and this too was down to the player himself, rebuffing City's offer to stay.
He scored 34 in 159 appearances since arriving from Kings Langley in 2020, most famously in the victory over Forest Green Rovers in the FA Cup first round.
But the 30-year-old striker has decided to join newly-promoted Chesham United.
Prior to Noble's return, it had been announced that Ibby Akanbi would not be coming back either.
