A magical state-of-the-art new light trail has opened its doors to visitors in Hertfordshire.
LUMAGICA St Albans features oversized light sculptures of mythical and wild animals, animated light tunnels, a unique light and water show, and a soundtrack specially composed for the experience.
Among the first guests heading for the attraction, which is based at Willows Activity Farm, London Colney, was Sean O’Grady from Bushey.
He said: “What an incredible experience! I’m completely blown away by it. The unicorn is spectacular and the show on the lake is a fantastic ending.
"I came here with my family, and it’s been a superb evening out.”
Described as a 'fantastical immersive light and sound experience’, the 1.2km circular trail has been almost a year in the making.
Lyssa Elster, chief executive at Willows Activity Farm said after the launch: “Only this morning we were still tweaking, testing and fine-tuning different sections of the experience.
"It’s hard to pick a favourite bit as every installation has something special to offer but I do love the welcome arch at the beginning as it gives guests a hint of the magic they are about to experience.”
Willows teamed up with leading lighting experts, MK Experience, to create the easily accessible circular trail.
Five of the installations are interactive, with the Field of Dreams set to wow visitors with its four different control stations, allowing guests to work as a group creating their own patterns and displays with the music.
The light and water show on the lake is a spectacular performance inspired by the colours of the Rose Window at St Albans Cathedral.
Guests then exit the trail via the Lovebird Avenue as fresh candy scents fill the air.
Gilbert Menassa, managing director of MK Experience, said: “We have had a brilliant evening welcoming our first guests to the experience.
“We work with organisations across the world to install and light up their venues and attractions, and every first night is a magical occasion as we get to see our guests’ reactions to all our hard work.
“LUMAGICA St Albans didn’t disappoint, and I’m thrilled that so many people enjoyed seeing it as much as we have enjoyed creating it.”
