A synagogue in St Albans has marked this year's Mitzvah Day - otherwise known as the Day of Social Action - with a number of community projects.
On Sunday (November 20) St Albans Masorti Synagogue (SAMS) worked on a number of projects, for the benefit of the local community.

This included working with St Saviour’s and St Bartholomew’s churches to cook and share a meal prepared with asylum seekers.
Fourteen asylum seekers from eight countries took part in the event, which also marked Interfaith Week.
SAMS members also made Ukrainian cakes and biscuits for a cultural afternoon for Ukrainian guests.
Ukrainian songs and dances were performed, in the country's national dress.
Young members took part in litter picking on the day, removing rubbish from the Alban Way.
Trees were also planted, and paths cleared at Highfield Park.
Lastly, members donated to collections made for asylum seekers and the women's refuge.
