The artwork has now been returned to it's rightful owner, after being "picked up in error" according to Hertfordshire police.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "A piece of art that was taken from a charity event has been returned to its rightful owner.
"The artwork, which was worth around £3,000, went missing on Saturday 3 December from the Alban Arena in St Albans.
"It appears that the artwork was picked up in error and no arrests have been made."
The return of the artwork comes after a missing nutcracker was returned to St Albans Clock Tower on Thursday (December 15).
The item reappeared in its place, along with a note and a bag of chocolates.
