A St Albans counselling charity for young people is asking for sponsors for its new therapy rooms.
The 25-year-old charity has seen an upsurge in numbers of young people needing their free confidential counselling service and is now turning to local businesses and individuals for help.
The team at Youth Talk has announced that the organisation has outgrown its current premises at Lower Dagnall Street. In order to be able to support more 13-25 year olds it is moving to new offices on London Road.
Can you help turn the current cold, empty rooms into warm, friendly counselling spaces where young people can talk in confidence?
Local businesses who want to transform a counselling room in the new building are asked to donate £2,000 to this scheme.
There are eight rooms and they are hoping to secure sponsorship for each of them by February. Each of the eight organisations or individuals who sponsor a room will get their name on their 'Wall of Fame'.
CEO David Barker said: "Moving into much larger premises at 64 London Road is a vital first step in our new five-year strategy for growth.
"Our free confidential counselling service can be life-changing and in some cases life-saving.
"Our new counselling suites will play a fundamental part in helping more local young people in need.
"This is why we are calling on the community of St Albans to help us with this mission to provide cosy, relaxing, spacious counselling rooms.
"The crisis in young people's mental health is well publicised and the services of Youth Talk have never been needed more by our local young people - we must ensure we are there for them.
"But we can't do it alone."
