A 14-year-old from St Albans has cut off 20 inches of his own hair to make a wig for a child suffering from cancer.

Isaac Pearson, a student at Marlborough Science Academy, grew his hair for five years due to The Little Princess Trust's need for "super growers".

With Isaac's hair now down to his waist, he said "I want to cut it off and style it to look like Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan Kenobi, in Star Wars".

The leader of Isaac's Scout group suggested that they host 'the grand cut', in which eight 20-inch lengths were removed from his head.

With wigs costing £550 to produce, Isaac is also raising money for the charity, to cover this cost.

He has created a GoFundMe page, which has already exceeded its target, hitting £850.
