£10,000 has been raised by a number of local businesses at a lunch attended by EastEnders star Shaun Williamson.
The St Albans Chamber Of Commerce's St George's Day lunch, on April 21, took place at Sopwell House.
St Albans MP Daisy Cooper also attended the event, along with mayor Cllr Geoff Harrison.

A capacity attendance of 350 people were seen at the lunch, with Shaun Williamson acting as guest speaker.
The actor, who has also starred in Ricky Gervais' Extras and Life's Too Short, entertained guests with Barrioke and stand-up.

St Albans charities Open Door and St Albans & District Foodbank benefitted from the proceeds of an auction at the event.
A spokesperson for St Albans Chamber of Commerce said: "Thank you to all the sponsors, without whom the event wouldn’t be possible: Debenhams Ottaway, SA Law, Gilberts, Phillips Funeral Directors, Visionary Accountants, Wagada Digital, Gymtro, My Mustard – An Assisted Agency, FRP Advisory, Conical, The Smart Trilogy and Metro Bank."
