"Oaklands is so much more than a college and many people don’t know about our animals, our equine centre or indeed the huge outside space we have here, which means we can put on family-friendly music and food festivals like the very popular Oakfest which was on at the start of this month.

"We have so much going on here, and the zoo in particular is a great reminder that we are a centre of learning of all kinds, for all ages, including the very young, and including families, and we have been a valued part of the community for 100 years now."
The zoo will be open from 10am until 4pm every Sunday from July, with tickets currently available until September 3.
