The return of road closures for work that had already been completed has been explained by Affinity Water.
In May this year, Affinity Water completed the installation of water mains outside the Amrit restaurant on the B651, between St Peter's Street and Stonecross.
After around seven weeks the road was reopened and lines repainted.

Despite the work being completed, last month, the road closure returned with one resident telling The Herts Advertiser: "Customers received an email from Affinity telling us that the same stretch of road would need to be closed for a further six weeks to carry out `essential maintenance work`.
"On new pipework? Really?"
This road closure is due to last until Saturday, October 21.
Affinity Water have now revealed the reason for the closure.
A spokesperson for Affinity Water told The Herts Advertiser: "Affinity Water apologise for any disruption caused by the extended water mains installation works on St Peter’s Street, St Albans.
"During extensive testing and sampling of the new main they found that the water was not up to its usual high standard.
"Their teams are working to rectify the issue and bring the new main into service to provide a reliable, high quality supply of drinking water for customers in the area.”
