The first ever Trevor Sorbie Award - which recognises creative, innovative and commercial success in hairdressing - has been presented to a St Albans stylist.
Roman Sys was presented with the award - named after well-known British hairdresser Trevor Sorbie MBE - during a Fellowship for British Hairdressing ceremony on Monday (December 4).
To win the award, Sys showcased a range of artistic hair creations, as well as a short video sharing his creative process and vision.
A panel of renowned hair stylists – including Trevor Sorbie MBE, Eugene Souleiman, Angelo Seminara, Guiseppe Stelitano and Nathan Walker – selected Roman to receive the honour.
Roman's brother Filip said: "Roman, from as young as I can remember, has been fascinated by hair.
"He was a student at Parmiter’s School, and the first student to attend West Herts College on day-release to study hairdressing.
