Boots and Waitrose stolen goods found after vehicle seized

The car was seized on Saturday (January 27) after being identified by two officers, with its driver already disqualified from driving and having no insurance.

£1,500 worth of stolen goods were seized.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed: "Enquiries are ongoing regarding arrests into the reported shoplifting offences."

Later on Saturday, officers stopped another vehicle in St Albans, after the driver failed to stop at a road closure in St Peter’s Street.

The vehicle was using un-registered number plates, one of the tyres was below the minimum tread depth of 1.6mm and the driver had no insurance.

The driver has been summonsed to court and the vehicle was seized.
