The executive headteacher of Crabtree Infants' School, Harpenden, has described her pride at the school being rated as 'outstanding' by Ofsted.
Following an inspection on Wednesday, February 7, and Thursday, February 8, the school followed in the footsteps of Crabtree Junior School in receiving Ofsted's top rating.
All four areas assessed were deemed 'outstanding', with a report praising its ambitious curriculum, high expectations and opportunities for pupils to develop their character.
“This is a school where all pupils, including children in the early years, can flourish" the report read.
"The inclusive, calm and harmonious environment helps pupils to thrive. The school is aspirational. Pupils develop highly positive attitudes to their learning right from the start.
“Staff make it a priority to know all the pupils and their families well. Pupils arrive each day full of smiles and eager to start their learning.
"Behaviour is exemplary during lessons, around the school and in the playground. Pupils care and look out for each other.
"They are confident to take risks and know it is okay to make mistakes. Pupils are overwhelmingly happy at school.
"Pupils, and their parents and carers, would unreservedly recommend this school to others. Everyone is proud to be part of the Crabtree family.”
Emma Simmons, executive headteacher of Crabtree Schools, thanked the school community for its hard work.
She added: “I’m so proud that we have successfully achieved the ‘double’ and received outstanding grades across the board.
"Crabtree Infants’ and Junior Schools are ambitious, happy and harmonious places for children to learn and grow and I’m delighted that this has been recognised by Ofsted.
