A bus driver has been taken to hospital after a crash involving multiple cars in St Albans this afternoon.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are currently at the scene in Hatfield Road, after a collision involving a bus and multiple cars near the junction with Austen Way, close to the Speckled Hen pub.
The driver of the bus has been taken to hospital and others involved are being treated at the scene for injuries.
"A bus has been in collision with a number of cars on the Hatfield Road, by Austen Way near to the Speckled Hen Pub," said a Herts police spokesman.
"Fire, ambulance and police are in attendance and the road is closed in both directions.
"The circumstances are unclear at this time, but the bus driver needed medical attention at the scene and has now been transferred to hospital. A number of other people have been treated at the scene.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 quoting ISR 430 of 4/4."
