St Albans' motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network over the coming weeks.

Three are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A414, from 10pm April 15 to 5am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to 6A - lane closure for central reservation on behalf of National Highways.

• A414, from 9.30am May 1 to 4pm May 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to junction 6A - mobile lane closures for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.

A further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M25, from 10pm May 7 to 5.30am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 Slip exit road, Lane closure for surveys.

• M1, from 10pm May 7 to 6am May 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 8 to junction 6A, Lane and carriageway closure for surfacing works, diversion via JNational Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm May 7 to 5am May 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 21 link road to M1 southbound, junction 6A, Lane closures for Speed / Red X Camera maintenance.

• M1, from 10pm May 10 to 5am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 9 to junction 8 - lane closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal works on behalf of Ringway.

• M1, from 10pm May 13 to 5am May 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 8 to junction 6A - hard shoulder closure and lane closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal works on behalf of Ringway.

• A1(M), from 10pm May 13 to 5am May 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane and slip road closure for vegetation clearance, diversion via National Highways roads.

• A414, from 10pm May 14 to 5am May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5183 westbound, Dunstable Road Roundabout to Friars Wash Roundabout - carriageway closure and diversion route for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

• M1, from 10pm May 20 to 6am May 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6A to junction 5, carriageway closure,for surfacing works, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• A414, from 10pm May 20 to 5am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 eastbound, Watford Road over bridge to Park Street roundabout - lane closure for inspection works on behalf of Volker Fitzpatrick.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
