After being caught on CCTV trying car door handles in Harpenden and St Albans, a thief from Shenley has been jailed.
At Hatfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday, May 13), Chloe Briars - of Meadow Avenue - was handed a six-week prison sentence after being charged with seven counts of vehicle interference.
Between 7am and 8am on Sunday morning (May 12), the 26-year-old was caught trying door handles in Kingscroft, Longfield Road and Cravells Road in Harpenden, and Grosvenor Road in St Albans.
At around 8am, Briars was arrested in Coldwood Road, Harpenden and was charged with the seven offences.
Several cars were found to be insecure, with bank cards, driving licences and several pairs of sunglasses stolen.
