Irish comic Ed Byrne will bring his critically acclaimed tour to St Albans later this year.
Tragedy Plus Time focuses on the death of Ed's brother and takes its name from a quote often attributed to Mark Twain.
Ed's TV career spans three decades, with regular appearances on shows such as QI, Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You.
Having already announced a date in Stevenage next month, Ed has now extended his tour until the end of 2024, including a date at the Alban Arena on Wednesday, November 13.
The show received plaudits at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year, with critics praising the shows poignancy, mixing darkness with levity as he mines the most tragic event of his life for laughs. Ed's brother Paul died of liver failure in 2022.
In an interview with Country Images Magazine he said: “I do think he would want me to turn his death into a one-person touring comedy show and that’s what I’ve done. But it was more difficult than anything I’ve done before. I had to balance being funny with telling what’s quite a sad story. "
Tickets for the show cost £34 and can be booked at https://alban-arena.co.uk/events/ed-byrne-tragedy-plus-time/.
Doors open at 6.30pm and the show will begin at 7.30pm.
