Drivers in and around St Albans will have 14 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10pm May 29 to 5am June 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 9 - exit slip road lane closure due to electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

A further 13 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A405, from 10pm June 3 to 6am June 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A405 northbound, M1, junction 6 to M25, junction 21A, carriageway closure, lane closure and exit slip road closure, diversion via National Highways and local authority roads.

• M1, from 10pm June 4 to 5am June 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, Lane closure for safety fence repairs.

• A414, from 10pm June 4 to 5am June 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 9 to junction 8 - lane closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

• M1, from 11pm June 7 to 5am June 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6A to junction 6 and Link to M25, junction 21A clockwise and anticlockwise, Lane, carriageway and link road closure for carriageway repairs, diversion via Local Authorities.

• A405, from 10pm June 8 to 5.30am June 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 21 roundabout and all aproaches, carriageway closure, for testing works, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• M1, from 10pm June 10 to 6am June 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, Lane closures for testing works.

• M1, from 10pm June 10 to 5am June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, M1, junction 9 to 10 - hard shoulder only for communications on behalf of National Highways.

• A414, from 10pm June 10 to 5am June 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to junction 6A - IPV for sweeping of carriageway on behalf of National Highways.

• M1, from 10pm June 10 to 6am June 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, Lane and slip road closure for resurfacing works, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• A414, from 9pm June 11 to 5am June 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 both directions, M1, junction 8 to Park Street Roundabout - mobile lane closures for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.

• A414, from 10pm June 11 to 5am June 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to junction 6A - mobile lane closures for horticulture (cutting and planting) on behalf of National Highways.

• M25, from 11pm June 14 to 5.30am June 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 23 to junction 22, Lane closure for drainage works.

• M1, from 10pm June 17 to 6am June 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6A, carriageway closure for resurfacing work, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
