The St Albans HSBC branch has temporarily closed its doors, with the bank not reopening until June 26.
The closure was planned in advance and is in order to facilitate a 'refresh' of the site.
Internal building work will be done, bringing a fresh coat of paint to the branch, as well as new signage and the installation of new, state-of-the-art cash machines.
Andrew Byrne, local director of HSBC said: “We have been talking to customers about the temporary closure for the last month, and while we are having the work done people can continue to use their nearest Post Office for day to day transactions, plus mobile and online banking is available 24/7 in addition to being able to call our contact centre. In the meantime, customers are advised that their nearest branch is in Howardsgate, Welwyn Garden City.
For those unable to get to the Welwyn Garden City branch, HSBC will be holding pop up events at St Albans library, where they will be able to support customers with any queries that they have.
These will take place on Thursday, June 6 and the following Thursday, June 13, both running from 10am until 2pm.
