Roadworks on the M1 and the M25 look set to cause delays for St Albans motorists over the coming weeks.

Drivers from the city will have 10 road closures to deal with in the final days of June and into July, with three of them expected to lead to major disruptions on the roads.

St Albans motorist should keep an eye out for the following closures:

  • M25, from 10pm on June 24 to 5.30am on June 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes) anticlockwise, from Junction 22 to Junction 21A. Lane closure for drainage works.
  • M1, from 10pm on June 24 to 5am on June 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes) southbound, from Junction 10 to Junction 9. Lane closures for structure maintenance on behalf of National Highways.
  • M1, from 10pm on June 24 to 5am on June 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes) southbound, from Junction 9 to Junction 8. Hard shoulder closure due to electrical works on behalf of National Highways.
  • M25, from 10pm on June 24 to 5.30am on June 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes) clockwise, from Junction 21A to Junction 22. Lane closure for drainage works.
  • M1 from 10pm on June 25 to 5am on June 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes) northbound, at Junction 8 entry slip. Slip road closure, lane closure and diversion for communications on behalf of National Highways.
  • M1, from 10pm on June 25 to 5am on June 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes) southbound, from Junction 8 to Junction 7. Lane closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.
  • M1, from 10pm on June 27 to 5am on June 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes) southbound, from Junction 9 to Junction 8. Lane closures due to carriageway reconstruction/renewal works on behalf of Ringway.
  • M1, from 10pm on July 1 to 5am on July 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes) northbound, from Junction 8 to Junction 9. Lane closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.
  • M1, from 10pm on July 1 to 5.30am on July 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes) southbound, from Junction 6A to Junction 5. Carriageway and slip road closure for resurfacing works, diversion via Local Authorities.
  • A1(M), from 10pm on July 8 to 6am on July 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes) northbound, from Junction 1 to Junction 3. Lane closures, slip road closure and carriageway closure for concrete repair works, diversion via National Highways and local authority roads.
