St Albans Museums have a packed programme of activities, workshops, events and exhibitions to keep families entertained this summer.
Free summer activities will be held at St Albans Museum + Gallery from July 24 to September 1.
These include a trail to discover people and places of St Albans past, with a chance to dress up as people from the past, and an artefact handling trolley and explorer buckets for younger visitors.
An exhibition, 'The Wonderful World of Ladybird Artists', is on throughout the summer - and visitors of any age can design their own Ladybird book cover celebrating historic St Albans.
Museum Minis is an hour-long session for young children accompanied by an adult, which includes a story, a craft activity and a museum treasure hunt looking for objects or characters inspired by the Ladybird exhibition and The Gingerbread Man book.
The session is on August 9 from 1.15pm to 2.15pm, and is £6.50 per person.
On July 30 and August 20 there will be a 'Make Your Own Toy' workshop for ages four plus, taking inspiration from the Ladybird exhibition.
Sessions run from 1.45pm to 2.45pm and 3pm to 4pm, and cost £6.50 per person.
A 'Make a Model Ladybird' workshop will be held on August 6 and 27 from 1.45pm to 2.45pm and 3pm to 4pm.
The workshop suitable for ages five plus and cost £7.50 per person.
Children can design their own alphabet tile to print at a family printing workshop from 1.45pm to 2.45pm and 3pm to 4pm on August 13.
The workshop is suitable for ages seven plus and is £7.50 per person.

The museum will be celebrating South Asian Heritage Month from July 18 to August 17 with a Mini Mela South Asian Festival.
Visitors can take part in craft activities, add to the community mandala installation, experiment with mehndi patterns and watch cultural clothing demonstrations in the Assembly Room from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, August 10.
On July 28 and August 11, established South Asian writers will run free poetry workshops, which are open to all thanks to community partner Suman Gujral.
