A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following an incident at a St Albans snooker hall.

It was reported that at around 5.20am on Sunday,  June 16, a man inappropriately touched a woman at the Raging Ball Club in London Road.

An altercation allegedly followed, with the man assaulting two people who tried to intervene, grabbing one woman by the throat and punching another.

The suspect from St Albans was arrested at the scene on suspicion of sexual assault and assault (ABH).

He has been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.

“When we arrived at the scene, the victim of the alleged sexual assault had already left the venue.

"We would like her to come forward so that we can help her and progress our enquiries. If this was you, please do not feel nervous about getting in contact – we take reports of this nature seriously and will do all we can to support you.”
