A St Albans-based homelessness charity has received a £50,000 boost, allowing them to add a new role to their team.

Emmaus Hertfordshire has a shop on Hill End Lane and works to provide support to people who have experienced homelessness and provide them with a home, tailored support, companionship and work opportunities.

Now, thanks to a generous donation from fragrance house CPL Aromas, the charity is able to add a new member to its team.

Community support manager Harley Scott will support Emmaus residents who have complex needs, such as addiction and trauma.

Emmaus Hertfordshire chief executive Duncan Lewis said: "A massive thank you to CPL Aromas for their ongoing support which has been incredible and is enabling us to provide much-needed additional resources to our support team.

“It allows them to focus on creating and running personal development and wellbeing activities, maintaining and improving on our referral process, and providing valuable support with age-related care needs and asylum seeker status.”

The charity currently supports 36 people who have previously experienced homelessness.

The charity's UK-wide chief executive Charlotte Talbot said: “We will be able to provide more specialist support, better opportunities, and more positive outcomes for companions.

"We’re extremely grateful for their (CPL Aromas) ongoing support.”
