Two societies have jointly announced a photography competition to capture Harpenden life.
The competition, open to all residents and members of both the Harpenden Society and the Harpenden Photographic Society (HPS), encourages entrants to photograph aspects of urban development, transportation and recreation.
Jeff Phillips, chairman of the Harpenden Society, said: "We are excited to partner with the Harpenden Photographic Society to harness the power of imagery in highlighting the issues that matter most to our community."
The images will form a bank for future campaigns.
Participants can submit entries via the Harpenden Society website.
Images must be submitted in jpeg format, be no larger than 10Mb, and include a brief explanation of the image's significance.
A panel of judges will evaluate entries based on creativity, relevance and artistic merit.
Winning entries will receive prizes including a £25 voucher from Harpenden Books.
Steve Collins, chair of the Harpenden Photographic Society, encourages all residents passionate about photography to participate.
He said: "We encourage all residents with a passion for photography to join us in capturing the spirit of our community’s concerns and aspirations."
The deadline for entries is midnight, November 30, 2024, with winners announced by December 31, 2024.
