New data reveals which GP surgeries in St Albans and Harpenden have the highest and lowest rated receptionists.
As part of the 2024 GP Patient Survey, residents were sent questionnaires and asked to rate their local practice’s reception and administrative team, as well as how easy it is to contact them on the phone.
The England-wide survey provides practice level assessment of patient experiences at their GP surgeries.
Across St Albans and Harpenden, Verulam Medical Group in St Albans was rated the GP surgery where it is easiest to get through on the phone, while Grange Street Surgery in St Albans was the top-rated GP surgery for the helpfulness of receptionists.

At the other end of the table, Davenport House Surgery in Harpenden was the surgery where the lowest percentage of patients said it was "easy" to get through on the phone.
Hatfield Road Surgery in St Albans was the surgery where the lowest percentage of patients rated receptionists as "helpful".
Both Davenport House Surgery and Hatfield Road Surgery are rated overall good by the CQC.
