As St Albans prepares to host the Pub in the Park festival for a fifth time, headline act Olly Murs has announced he'll be bringing his full arena set to Verulamium Park.

The 40-year-old singer most recently toured in 2023 and will be performing the full 'Marry Me' tour set when he comes to Hertfordshire next month.

Known for his energetic and dynamic stage presence, Olly will bring explosive entertainment to Verulamium Park, complete with a full band and backing singers.

The announcement has prompted festival organisers to build a bigger stage to accommodate the former X-Factor stars production.

His Saturday night set is part of a huge weekend of food and music, as Tom Kerridge brings his brainchild back to St Albans.

Last month, he spoke about his love for the city, saying: "St Albans has always had this really good party vibe and amazing support for all the food and music.

"Verulamium Park is perfect for it, everything fits perfectly together and we've always been made to feel so welcome here, so it's lovely to be coming back."

As well as big name musical performers, the weekend will offer world class food with the very best pubs, restaurants, and chefs from across the UK cooking up a range of small plates from £7 each, inspired by their careers and restaurants.

New for 2024 is 'Pod in The Park', a series of live podcasts fronted by Sunday Brunch co-host Simon Rimmer.

Joining him on stage will be guests including Angelica Bell, Sara Davies, Richard Herring, Chris Stark and Matt Tebbutt.

On Friday night, Leigh Francis will appear on the Miele Kitchen Stage, and will also be signing copies of his new book 'Leigh, Myself and I'.

On the Saturday night Stark will also guest host alongside Kerridge on the Firepit stage.

Pub in The Park first came to St Albans in 2019, and has returned in every subsequent year, taking up a traditional September slot at the end of the festival's summer roadshow.

This year's visit to St Albans will be preceded by stops in Marlow, Chiswick and Reigate.

Pub in The Park takes place from September 6-8 and tickets can be purchased at https://www.pubintheparkuk.com/st-albans/ticket-info.
