The gardens at Clare Lodge Care Home in Battlefield Road were opened to the public to raise money for the St Albans Good Neighbour Scheme.
Home manager Gina Edwards decided to open the gardens to the public on Friday, August 30, after seeing how nice they were looking thanks to the hard work of residents, staff and the gardener Paul.
The gardens were open for four hours for a voluntary donation, with refreshments available, and the day raised £180 for the charity.
Relatives and residents were able to speak to the public about their experience of living in the home.

A spokesperson for the St Albans Good Neighbour Scheme said: "St Albans Good Neighbour Scheme is very grateful to the manager at Clare Lodge for choosing to support our local charity with the proceeds of their open garden.
"We are totally reliant on donations to operate all our services as we have no external funding. All our work is undertaken by volunteers and we have no paid staff.
"We are coming to the end of our 44th year of operation and are about to embark on a new project to promote ourselves in the digital world, so any contributions will help to support that endeavour."
