St Albans' motorists will have 13 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
Five of these are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 13 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:
• M1, from 10pm September 16 to 6am September 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, carriageway closure for surfacing work, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.
• M1, from 10pm September 16 to 5am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6A to junction 6, Lane closure for Urgent safety fence repairs.
• M25, from 10pm September 17 to 6am September 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anticlockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane closure for gantry upgrade.
• A414, from 10pm September 18 to 5am September 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 8 to junction 9 - carriageway closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.
• A414, from 9pm September 23 to 6am October 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 both directions, Between Watford Road bridge and Park Street roundabout - Lane closure for inspection/survey works on behalf of Volker Fitzpatrick.
• M1, from 10pm September 23 to 5am September 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 10 to junction 9 - hard shoulder closure and lane closure due to barrier - permanent works on behalf of Ringway.
• A405, from 10pm September 23 to 5am September 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti clockwise, junction 21, Lane closure for maintenance works.
• M25, from 10pm September 23 to 5.30am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 22 to Jc t 21A, Lane closure for Gantry upgrading works.
• M25, from 10pm September 23 to 5.30am September 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane and slip road closure for non accessible gantry maintenance, diversion via National Highways roads.
• M25, from 10pm September 24 to 5am September 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti clockwise, junction 21A to junction 20, Lane closures, link road closures and carriageway closure for maintenance works, diversion via local authority and National Highways roads.
• A405, from 10pm September 26 to 5am September 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti clockwise, junction 21, Lane closures for maintenance works.
• A1081, from 10pm September 26 to 5am September 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 10 to junction 9 - entry slip road closure, lane closure and diversion route due to communications works on behalf of National Highways.
• M25, from 11pm September 27 to 5am September 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 21 to junction 22, Lane closures, link road closures and carriageway closure for maintenance works, diversion via local authority roads.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
