A by-election has been called following the resignation of former district councillor from Harpenden North and Rural, Beth Fisher.
The Liberal Democrat was elected in the ward in May earlier this year and has now stepped down without further information from the council.
The by-election will take place on Thursday, October 17, with poll cards already issued to eligible voters.
The candidate lists will be published online at stalbans.gov.uk/elections-and-results on Friday, September 20 after 4pm.
The newly-elected district council candidate will serve until May 2028.
Voters are being encouraged to check which polling station they should attend as their by-election polling station may be different to the one they usually vote at.
Voters are reminded they will need to show approved photo ID to vote at a polling station.
This includes a current or expired UK passport or driver’s licence.
Residents who do not have approved ID can apply online for a free Voter Authority Certificate which can be done on the Electoral Commission’s website where details of approved ID are also available.
The deadline for applying for a postal vote, amending a postal vote or amending a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday, October 2.
The deadline for applying for a new proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday, October 9.
