A driver has been arrested following a crash on the A405 in St Albans, with Hertfordshire police suggesting they were "unfit to drive".
The collision occurred on the A405 St Albans North Orbital Road heading towards Park Street roundabout at around 1pm - the incident is still causing long delays.
A statement from Herts police said: "We’re at the scene of a collision on the North Orbital Road, St Albans.
"The vehicles involved are a Renault Megan, a red Mitsubishi Colt. We’re awaiting recovery for the Mitsubishi.
"The driver of the Mitsubishi has been arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive. We’re still at the scene."
According to the AA, the A405 is currently partially blocked with queuing traffic.
Herts Highways advises drivers to avoid the area.
