A pedestrian is in a "serious condition" after he was involved in a crash in Redbourn this morning.
The victim, man in his 50s, and a red Kia Rio collided near the Redbourn Road roundabout on the A5183 at 7.25am today.
Herts police and the East of England Ambulance Service attended before the man was taken to hospital via air ambulance.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called just after 7.20am with reports that a man had been hit by a car on the A5183 roundabout near Redbourn.
"An ambulance, rapid response vehicle and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. The man was airlifted to The Royal London Hospital in a serious condition.”
Herts police have confirmed the incident occurred on the roundabout near the Redbourn MOT Centre and is asking drivers to avoid the area.
According to Herts Highways, there are "long delays" as the A5183 remains part-closed Northbound while emergency services clear the area.
