A man has been taken to hospital for "further assessment and care" after a collision in London Colney this afternoon.
The incident involved a black Mercedes that crashed on the A1081 London Colney Bypass heading southbound towards The Bell roundabout.
Herts police confirmed the incident occurred around 11.40am when they part-closed a road near the McDonald's exit with Herts Fire and Rescue.
The ambulance service was also at the scene.
A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.43am to a single-vehicle road traffic collision at the Bell roundabout in London Colney. An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene.
"An adult man was transported to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
A new update from Herts Fire and Rescue said that a single car collided with a tree.
Mark Barber, Assistant Chief Fire Officer, said: “We were called to reports of a collision on the A1081 at London Colney this morning, and quickly despatched three fire engines to the scene.
"Fortunately nobody was trapped, but our firefighters working alongside colleagues from the ambulance service used their medical training to assess and treat one person at the roadside.
"Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 11:45am this morning to reports of a car colliding with a tree on the A1081 London Colney Bypass.
"Three fire engines were sent to the scene, where crews found one car that had left the road. Nobody was trapped and firefighters provided emergency medical care to one person until the ambulance service arrived at the scene. One person was taken to hospital by the ambulance service."
According to Herts Highways, the southbound road is now open and delays are beginning to clear.
