As another week comes to an end, a fresh round of public notices have been published for St Albans residents.

As ever, we're rounding up five planning applications that could affect the district in the coming weeks and months.

The public notice portal is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about restrictions and notices.

1. New SEND training café

Plans have been submitted to demolish the existing gym building at St Luke's School, Redbourn, to be replaced by a training café building for young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities.

Alterations will be made to the existing school farm with the construction of ancillary storage containers and an animal shelter.

A new landscaped courtyard, further landscape will also be erected in addition to habitat enhancements, cycle and car parking, and refuse provision.

2. New point of access for vehicles

An application has been made for a new vehicle access point following the closure of the existing access.

Under the plans there will be further alterations to the front boundary wall and brick piers at the 33 Rothamsted Avenue, Harpenden.

3. Solar gateway for listed building

Plans for the installation of a solar gateway to a side elevation have been submitted.

The property at Millstream Barn, Redbourn, is a listed building.

4. Repairs to Redbourn pub

The latest update in plans to repair a Redbourn pub include the addition of materials and external/internal works and  finishes. 

Works are being carried out after the building was damaged by a vehicle hitting the pub.

Under the plans, externally timbers have to be replaced where the vehicle struck the arch way of the building and internally it is required to re-plaster the downstairs ceiling as the impact has caused cracks.

The property affected, is The Queen of Herts pub at 71 High Street, Redbourn.

5. New extension in St Albans

Finally, plans have been submitted for a single story side extension at 10a Ver Road, St Albans.

The application would see changes to existing conservatory to brick sides and tiled roof and addition of bi-fold doors
