A motorcyclist has been left hospitalised after a crash on the M1 in Hertfordshire this morning.
At around 6.17am, police were alerted to reports of a collision on the M1 southbound between Junction 9 for Flamstead and Junction 8 for Hemel Hempstead.
A spokesperson for Herts police said: "Two vehicles were involved – a white Suzuki motorbike and a silver Nissan Qashqai.
"The ambulance service were also called and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital."
Recovery was arranged for the bike and the incident has since been cleared.
At the time, there was a 45 minute delay remains in the area with up to seven miles of congestion.
An X post by National Highways East read: "One lane of four is closed on the M1 southbound in Hertfordshire between J9 (Flamstead) and J8 (HemelHempstead) due to a collision.
Traffic has now been released, and all lanes have re-opened on the #M1 southbound in #Hertfordshire between J9 (#Flamstead) and J8 (#HemelHempstead).
