An application for a new outdoor mini-golf course has been submitted to the district council, but there is something fishy about these plans.
The site earmarked for the course is at the north side of Maidenhead Aquatics off the North Orbital Road, St Albans.
DLA Town Planning Ltd has submitted a proposal on behalf of the store for a new golf course at the rear of the main building. Currently the location is an "open sales area".
According to the application, the miniature course will adopt an "aquatic theme" featuring 18 holes - some examples of which can be found below:
In the planning statement the agent said: "The proposed mini-golf holes would have the theming, décor and style of the course to be based on the company’s logo (a clownfish).
Potentially, "small water features and pumps" could be incorporated into the design too.

The mini-golf facility would have the same operating hours as Maidenhead Aquatics - 10am to 6pm - and customers would "purchase their game and rent the equipment".
In support of the application the agent added: "There would be no undue harm to the amenity of neighbouring occupants of the site and no buildings or built structures proposed, would cause material loss of openness to the Green Belt."
The applicant also referred to its accordance with the St Albans draft local plan, as the golf course is designed to "appeal to families for repeat custom".
No alterations would be made to the existing access or parking arrangements either with the current provision deemed "plentiful" for the build.
Plans are currently under public consultation and users can comment by Thursday, December 12.
