Redbourn Taekwondo Club tighten their belts and threw themselves whole-heartedly into national competition - and returned with plenty of success too.
The International Taekwondo Federation nationals were held at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield and saw more than 200 competitors going looking for national titles and medals.
And there were three big winners for the Village Hall-based club.
Twelve-year-old Zara Fitzgerald moved up a grade to the U14 group for the first time but after two difficult fights with two Welsh girls in both the semi-final and final, she came out on top to take the gold medal and British title for sparring, her third successive win at the event.
She capped this off with a silver in patterns.
Dylan Castillo came back with the same haul after a dynamic display beat some higher-graded opponents for gold in the sparring before backing it up with silver in the patterns.
But Joel Moss went one step further than his two team-mates, claiming gold in both sparring and patterns against very strong opposition.
A spokesman for the club said: "Overall we couldn't be prouder of the team and their truly gutsy performances to produce four golds and two silvers at the nationals."
