After the excitement of London for the marathon, it was Ibiza that was the centre of attention for St Albans Striders - and they weren't there to party.
Four of the club were involved in the World Duathlon Championships, an event which saw them compete against other nations over two runs of 10k each, either side of a 40k bike ride.
And the quartet equipped themselves brilliantly in the sunny setting.
In the women’s race, Katherine Caris-Harris was 68th overall and 12th in her category with a time of two hours 29 minutes 10 seconds.
Caroline Bailes was 107th overall and 23rd in her age group, finishing some six minutes behind in 2:37:52.
Richard Davis was 127th in the men's race, placing him in the top 10 of his age category.
He clocked 2:10:08 while Max Campbell finished in 2:13:52, good enough for 161st overall and seventh in his age race.
Closer to home several Striders competed in the Kimpton 10k where Kate Dixon was first lady home, ahead of Helen Cartlidge in third.
Eva Dixon was third girl in the junior race.
