The second round of the Sunday Cross-country League brought a good chunk of joy for the big squad from St Albans Striders.
Held at Cassiobury Park and Whippendell Woods in Watford, the event attracted a field of more than than 350 runners, with around 10 per cent of them coming from the Striders.
Full team results are still to be announced but the individual races proved positive for the St Albans club, despite the typical cross-country weather.
Under captain Nigel Aston, the men's team were led home by Adam Yorwerth in ninth place overall, followed by Jonathon Scott, Chris Dennell, Rory Marsh and Jonathon Bird.
The women's team were not to be outdone though and Freya Weddell and Hannah Burkhardt completed a wonderful one-two for the Striders.
They were followed home by Penny Habbick, Kate Dixon and Louise Bentham.
