There were 50,000 runners on the streets if the capital at the 2024 London Marathon - and St Albans Striders had a big squad among them.
More than 50 from the club took part with the first of them to finish being Ross May in two hours 35 minutes 58 seconds.
Steve Buckle in 2:37:55 and then Jacob James in 2:38:22 were next while Jon Hall (2:51:15), James Chasen (2:52:09), Adam Yorwerth (2:52:24), Tony Brady-Locke (2:54:51), Paul Stack (2:56:26), and Patrick Hayes (2:58:01) all successfully finished under the three-hour mark.
Heather Hann ran a very impressive race finishing in 113th place out of over 20,000 females in 2:54:40 while Penny Habbick finished an astonishing third in her age category with 3:03:19.
Lucy Waterlow (3:04:43), Laura Johnston (3:08:54, PB), Hannah Burkhardt (3:09:44, PB), Freya Weddell (3:13:56), Joanna Parker (3:17:17) Kate Dixon (3:26:15) and Hollie Ryder (3:26:18) all got under three-and-a-half hours.
Many of the Striders used the occasion to raise funds for charitable causes with one, Steve Scorer, raising money for Marie Curie six days after completing the Boston Marathon.
Several other Striders also travelled across the pond to Boston on Monday in what proved to be tricky conditions due to the heat.
Megan and Barnaby Walker crossed the line together in 3:20:34 with Isaac Ye close behind in 3:30:01.
